NPM is committed to developing new knowledge and theory relevant to nonprofit and public organizations and their management. Seminars, guest speakers, and conferences make it possible for faculty and doctoral students to learn from visiting scholars, as well as their UM colleagues in other schools and disciplines. Thus, they develop a broader perspective on the challenges facing managers in the nonprofit and public sectors.

Many faculty at the University of Michigan support NPM's research goals and initiatives. They are willing to engage students in their own research projects, or to help students develop their own investigations related to nonprofit and public management. The NPM Faculty Affiliates list contains links to further information about these faculty members' current research interests.
